SCAD Course Selection Redesign
As a UI/UX designer, I worked with a UI designer to complete this project to improve the students’ experience when they tried to finish their degrees. I hope it helpful for them to find jobs in the future.

Students are always hard to make choices among plenty of courses with a lot of elements such as time, position and skills required, especially when they want to take optional courses out of their majors.
- Solution
- Course Recommend System
We create tag system and course recommend system into the original system, which is helpful for the system to compute the plan list. Students can choose the best choice provided or make their personal choice.

- Do students ever ask you for help because of problems of course registration? How often is it? What kind of problems? Could you give us some examples?
- Yes, I will meet these problems for every term and for the questions about course registration, they are nearly the same. For example, students will ask me to help them choose courses for the new term they are almost new to SCAD). Or ask for advise about what class to take next term.
- Please explain your interactions with students / Describe what students have expressed they think about the system.
- When students contact me with e-mail and ask for help about course selection, I will check students’ degree planner first to see what class he(she) is able to take for each term. Then I will write back to tell they the course code and ask if they need me to help they do registration.

- For the first time I was confused to use the system, so I turned to advisor for help. I get used to it after two terms’ selection activity.

- It’s really a bad experience, in a recent course selection, I didn’t get the class I want to take because of the system.(Copy code number,paste it in form, submit)
